Muay Thai Rules

Muay Thai consider as the best self-defense skills with the advantage of easy to learn. Everyone, women, man, child all can learn it and enjoy the fun of learning.

The Time record for Muay Thai is 3 minutes per round with two-minute breaks in total five rounds. Original muay thai fight is come from the wai khru dance, in which each contestant pays homage to his teachers. Besides the symbolic meaning, the dance is a good warm-up exercise. You will notice that each boxer wears a headband and armbands. The headband, called mongkhol, is believed to bestow luck to the wearer since it has been blessed by a monk or the boxer's own teacher. Since Buddhism and the teacher play important roles in the life of Thais, the headband is both a lucky charm and a spiritual object.

Similar as boxing, the Muay Thai match is decided by a knockout or by points. There judges decide who will win the points and who will get the final win.

If you like boxing, you can find almost equipment that is using for Muay Thai matches. There are a stopwatch, a signal gong, a warning bell, and boxing gloves of various sizes according to the rules, equipment to provide water for boxers, and other additional personal accessories for boxers who have not prepared their own such as boxing shorts in red or blue, jock straps, surgical tape, or sacred cords.

Overall, Muay Thai rule is simple and easy to follow.

Thailand still in the top medal rank at 25th SEA Games

Until today SEA game record,Thailand still in the Top medal list.

Thailand raked in 45 golds, 54 silvers and 60 bronzes.Ranked 3 more gold on Raking three more golds in final events of judo, muay Thai and athletics.

The following are Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia, and Brunei.

Muay Thai Defeats

The 26-year-old Mike Ryan defeats David Prescott of Wigan-based Majestic Gym.He is trained by double world champion Kevin Harper in an amateur Muay Thai bout at St Helens Clockface Road Labour Club.

His instructor Paul Lund said: “Prescott was hurt from Ryan’s very effective low roundhouse kicks to his outer thigh. Ryan also landed strong hooks to Prescott’s head only then for the referee to give Prescott a standing count.

Ryan won the game at the weekend and this was Ryan’s second victory under Muay Thai rules and he was awarded a £200 watch from show sponsors Trilogy Jewellers.

Young Man Who Was Studying Muay Thai


Texas US fighter San Juan's Roel Alvarado travel to Bangkok Thailand to represent America to win the title in Muay Thai.

After fighting with some world best muay thai fighters, I think he will more experience on muay thai. No doubt will get the title in armature muay thai fight.

Indian Muaythai Team won 5 metals in the World Championship



Indian Muay thai Team won 5 metals in the world championship. Thia is the highest metals record for Indian team in the last 20 years.

They won four bronzes and one silver. The silver medal won by Ms Somiya Sajid in femal 30 kg category.

The other Indian muay thai fighters who reached Quarter Finals are Norem Boynao Singh of Manipur in Senior Male 54 kg category, Anshuman Behera of Orissa in Junior Male 71 kg and Meenakshi Adhikari of Uttarakhand in Senior Female 51 kg category.
